This workshop explores the basic techniques of Highlighting, Contouring and Correcting when creating a natural or deliberately “corrective” foundation for the actors face. In situations, like those of print photography and proscenium theaters, where the environment, the lights and the medium are all working together to “flatten out” and diminish the actors natural and most powerful instrument (the face) – it is critical that the actor do all that is possible to enhance that instrument without forcing it into “unnatural” or “deliberately theatrical” territories, unless of course, that is the desire.
While addressing these issues; this workshop will also explore various techniques to develop “AGE” and “CHARACTER” on an actor’s face. Finally, we will explore, in depth, the differences in the various theatrical make-up brands; their pro’s and con’s and how best they might be implemented.
