ION Direct Selects and Magic Sheet

Building Direct Selects and a Magic Sheet on your EOS, ION or Element console allows for one-touch control and visual feedback of your lighting system. With some basic set-up, your students will be able to use Direct Selects to quickly select fixtures, areas, colors, and positions to record as cues. Your Magic Sheet will show all your fixtures laid out on a plot, giving instant visual feedback as to intensity and color. Having a quality Magic Sheet and Direct Selects are a valuable tool for UIL One Act Competition, especially for hosting schools.

In this class we will:

• Discuss how to build your Direct Select screen using Groups.
• Configure the Direct Select layout for easiest use in your theatre.
• Learn the use of color, focus and beam palates for quick programming.
• Build a Magic Sheet, a graphic, interactive light plot.
• Add your Direct Select items onto your Magic Sheet.
• Discover that with a quality Magic Sheet / Direct Select combination, students can begin programming with just a few minutes instruction.
